You aren't imaginative enough.

You could have said...

We could play truth or dare.
We could thumb wrestle.
We could sing show tunes.
We could play flashlight tag.
We could make snow angels.

The first morning of the ice storm of 1998, we awakened to find a tree leaning up against the front door.
I rounded up my two boys (ages 13 & 11), got some tools from the basement, and taught them how to chop wood while my wife made tea on the gas stove. (No Mr.Coffee- we had no electricity for over three weeks)
Work done, we headed back upstairs for a nice hot cuppa.
As we started to drink, my little guys began singing in unison:

We chop down trees
We drink our tea
We like to press wildflowers...

Hey IANO?
Here's a tip:
If you have no heat, when it's sleep time, light as many candles as you can safely manage in your bedroom. Snuggle up with wifey under a few blankets.
Make sure the bedroom door is closed. This will retain as much body/candle heat as possible.
The candles don't put out a lot of heat, but it does kind of build up overnight. By morning the room will be tolerable.
Don't worry about oxygen exhaustion in the room- a woodstove could do that, but 5-6 candles won't.
